On May 5, M Social Decentraland, a virtual reality platform division of the Singapore-based Millennium Hotels brand, opened. This is the first hotel in the Metaverse to be opened by a hospitality company.
Last May 5, 2022, Millennium Hotels and Resorts launched M Social Decentraland, making it the first hospitality company in history to run a hotel in a Metaverse virtual environment.
The new hotel, inspired by many M Social Hotels across the globe, captures the essence of M Social’s brand as a lifestyle brand and seeks to be a gathering place for everyone to explore the virtual reality world of Decentraland.
The newest hotel from Millennium Hotels and Resorts is situated in the center of Decentraland, close to Genesis Plaza, on valuable digital real estate.
M Social Decentraland is positioned as a destination for adventurers eager to discover new experiences and interact with like-minded people, much like its physical sister hotels. The virtual hotel has a large “M” on each of its four corners, and its inside is modern with glass exteriors and neon pink decorations.

When visitors enter M Social Decentraland, they can engage with the avatar that greets everyone there. The avatar leads visitors on a discovery-based tour around the hotel. Decentraland’s summit climbers will have the chance to win actual hotel surprises.

In 2016, the M Social brand was introduced in Singapore. The first virtual place is M Social Decentraland, which joins other actual locations in Paris, New York, Singapore, and Auckland.
